Tesla Powerwall

A lot of folks are wondering about the Tesla Powerwall. It is certainly a good looking product. Seems like reliable and proven technology. Good life cycle performance.

BUT!!!!

There are big environmental issues extracting the lithium. The process uses a lot of water and leaves that water highly toxic.
The cost of the battery and the energy portal plus the installation is very high. Approximately
$ 13,000 to $ 15,000 Canadian for 5 kW/hr of storage.
The cost per kW/hr stored and discharged over the lifetime of the battery is $ 0.35

All in all, I am not sold on the idea.
