Carbon Emissions For Electricity Generation.

As most of us understand that the outdated resources for electricity generation are the major culprits for slowly changing and eventually killing our planet. Voices can be heard from oil producing or coal mining camps that are outright in denial, claiming that renewables are not green technologies. I am not disputing that whatever generators are being produced on a large-scale industrial setting consumes a lot of energy. The important part to look at is to compare the carbon intensity g CO2e/ kWh.

Coal, oil, and natural gas are by far the biggest problems as the graph below demonstrates. Photovoltaics are long lasting and therefore over the lifetime of the modules a far better option. Geothermal concentrated solar and biomass are very viable options. Nuclear power is an exceptionally clean source of power; however, the world is still struggling with the safe storage of the spent fuel. Never mind the occasional accident that can have an enormous impact for the entire world. Wind and oceanic power generation are near the low end of the carbon emitters list. Hydro power plants are highly effective but have in the past caused a lot of controverses over changing habitats.
